Varieties We Grow

Picture
We grow Avocados, Citron/Buddha's Hand, Grapefruit, Kumquats, Lemons, Limes, Mandarins, Oranges, Pomelos, Finger Limes, Passion Fruit and Tangelos.
Picture

Avocados

Harvested In California, where about 90% of our country's avocados are grown, the trees bloom only once, but can produce two crops in a year. This means that Californian avocados only become plentiful in the late spring and early summer.
Picture

Kumquats

Many regions in California, particularly in Southern California, are ideal for growing kumquats. Kumquat trees are adapted to grow actively during hot summers, and are not damaged by cold winter temperatures. ... Kumquat fruits will hold for an exceptionally long period of time on the tree, up to one year.
Picture

Mandarins

Due to the development of new varieties over the year, the California mandarin season starts in November and can stretch all the way into May, with a few hanging around into June. Seven months of the year you can enjoy easy to peel fruit - from Clemtines to Pixies.

Picture

Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is a tropical fruit rich in antioxidants. It has a hard, colorful rind and juicy, seed-filled center with sweet and
tart flavor.
Picture

Buddha's Hand/Citron

The citron tree blooms nearly all year, but mostly in spring and the spring blooms produce the major part of the crop. The fruit is dark-green when young, takes 3 months to turn yellow.

Picture

Lemons

American-grown lemons are available all year, since lemon trees bloom all year and can have flowers, ripe and unripe fruit all at the same time. The Meyer lemon, a relative newcomer to our kitchens, is the one lemon that's at its peak in the winter, with a season that runs from November until about April.

Picture

Oranges

Each tree produces one crop of fruit per year, with the fruiting cycle taking up to 10 months for some varieties. Oranges have traditionally been harvested in winter, but new variety creation and cultivation techniques now allow for harvest almost all year.

Picture

Tangelos

Tangelos and tangerines have some of the shorter harvest times of all the citrus fruit, and each variety is ripe for about two months. Depending on which variety you are growing, harvest is recommended between mid-November and mid-February.
Picture

Grapefruit

Most California grapefruit are harvested in late summer and fall, the shoulder season before the Texas Ruby Reds arrive in stores.

Picture

Limes

Lime tree harvest generally takes place during summer. Limes take about three to four months until they reach peak flavor.

Picture

Pomelos

Pomelos are in season all year round, but at their best from roughly from December to February.

Australian Finger Limes
(aka Caviar Limes)

Finger limes are a delightfully delicious treat that make a super satisfying pop when squeezed. We love eating the little “pearls” as is but they also taste amazing on top of other fruits like watermelon and papaya.

For decades they have been a fixture at farmers markets throughout the region, cultivating loyal weekly clients and becoming a favorite citrus supplier to restaurants and wholesalers.
